Use Honey To Grow Longer Hair
Most of us know honey as a delicious, sticky and sweet product that we use in the kitchen for cooking and as an ingredient to make our tea taste good. But when it comes to using honey for other things like hair care, we may raise an eyebrow. Who knew honey is considered healthy hair food?
If you have dry or damaged hair, or would simply like a shine boost, honey can help. As a natural humectant, honey attracts moisture. It’s also full of antioxidants and nutrients to feed hair follicles that house the live part of hair, encouraging hair growth.
Raw honey is unheated, unpasteurized, unprocessed, pure honey. All of the vitamins, enzymes and other nutrients are preserved. It’s also a thick, wax-like consistency which allows the moisture to lock into the hair.
Try using this honey mask to add moisture, luster and shine to those locks. It’s quick and easy:
Mix ¼ cup of raw honey with just enough fresh water, thinning it out to the point where you can spread it around your hair (add it tablespoon by tablespoon.) Once the paste becomes easily applicable, apply as you would shampoo to damp hair and let it sit for 30 minutes. Rinse with warm water.
For even better results, place a plastic cap over your head for 30 minutes after you have spread it evenly across your hair and then rinse with warm water.
An even easier method is just to simply add a few drops of honey to your bottle of conditioner. This will work wonders for your routine washes.
